Producer Jeff Moleski spooling a NoManZero tape
RECORDING FINALLY DONE!
Well, it's done (the recording that is) of the debut NoManZero album, "Global
Warning". Marathon recording sessions saw us
spending around 600 hours on the work over a six month period. And the private
studio of our producer Jeff Moleski is of
the highest calibre with only his talents being even higher.
We recording the whole record on big, fat, juicy, 2 inch analog tape and a
wonderful vintage MCI large frame console using
the best in outboard gear and otherwise. We are talking easily a $100 per hour
quality room in which we spent 600 hours,
one can see that this album is of major label quality. We even mixed down to a
Studio 1/4" 2-track machine to maintain
that fat analog tone. That same tape machine and plenty of other equipment used
on this project were also used to make The
Smashing Pumpkin's "Meloncholy and the Infinite Sadness" record. Sweet sounding
gear to say the least.
But we can't say the album is officially ready for release yet. Next comes the
mastering work to be done (so all the songs
sound consistant volume and punch-wise on your stereo). Slated for that task it
Dave Schuman who tracked the famous Living
Colour's guitars for their last album. We are also still working on the CD
booklet layout too. Dave will back from mixing
an album in Seattle in mid-July and will get right on the mastering for our
album then. So we are looking at an early
August official release date to be realistic. Then it's out to the radio
stations and review sites to see what they think!
Three tracks have preview song clips at our MySpace pages and our webpage
www.MySpace.com/RonLuke
has three of the tracks on it....."Global Warning", "Split Personality" and "Web
of Lies".
NEW NoManZero video on
www.NoManZero.com
As mentioned in the last news letter, we have new video out produced for us by
New Tang Dynasty Television network out of
NYC. We have posted on our site
www.NoManZero.com and it requires Real-PLayer which most of you have. The
song title and
And video is called "Remember Tiananmen Square" and we absolutely assure you
that it will contain footage and scenes that
will floor you. If you don't have the Real-Player media player needed to watch

www.RealPlayer.com.
Big Advertising Campaign for the album already underway
We are continuing to advertise our new album by running full page ads in
Intermixx Magazine (www.Intermixx.com) and also
in Skope Magazine ( www.SkopeMagazine.com ). Both of these publications
absolutely ROCK and we are also pleased to
announce that Skope has obtained a deal to go national in distribution so
congrats to them on that accomplishment!!
We will be going into intense rehearsals to starting touring the album in the
very near future both locally and
regionally. Performance dates and where to get the CD will be in the next set of
advertisements we run.
Hey, thanks for reading this far an.......Keep On Rockin!!!

Just a quick mention that we have posted up a sample of what the latest recording sessions are producing. And the reason for that is the talent of our producer, Jeff Moleski who you can read about in the 1/20/06 news below (he has worked with so many musical legends). For you recording buffs, this record is being done in ANALOG style. We are talking 24 track , 2 inch reels of tape to get that punchy guitar and drum sound we have all enjoyed on albums by great bands like Alice in Chains. We feel so fortunate to have worked ourselves into a position to be able to spend 500 plus hours working in a state of the art studio with a world class talent producer . Our producer brings the experience of working with bands like The Smashing Pumpkins in the studio in addition to mixing acts live that range in style from Motorhead to Ray Charles. We don't mind repeating ourselves when we say this guy is absolutely fantastic and a totally funny guy to hang out with while you are recording!
The song we posted is "Global Warning" which is the title track. To see what the album cover will look like, visit www.MySpace.com/RonLuke. Yup, Ron (who is our singer) created the artwork himself and if you look closely you will see that the face is made of coins..........

Well, say-hey!!! Spring has sprung and brought some kickin news to the world of NoManZero. Yup, it;s true, when the seasons change, you never know what might happen. And we are proud of some way cool developments in our world. And they would be..........................
1) NoManZero was chosen out of over 500 bands and artists to appear on the 2006 Indie Music for Life CD. This is an absolutely stylin organization that raises funds for cancer research via the wonderful world of music. Two of last year's selected artists for the CD got nominated for a Grammy Award in the Independent division so we are stoked about getting on this CD. The link for the CD and Indie Music for Life organization is www.IndieMusicforLife.com.
2) We are SO stunned with the how good the album we are recording is coming out. Jeff Moleski, mentioned in our last post here is some kind of Guru and is piloting the NoManZero album to soaring heights. That's about all we can say without you actually hearing it but the album is not being put together to be one of those with the two songs you paid for and the rest being filler. Time is being spent to make every track worth the money. We look forward to posting some clips. The thing is we are dealing with is some serious interest from certain record labels so our ability to post much of record is limited for that reason. Please Stay Tuned
3) And then they were FOUR..............NoManZero went into some kind of musical huddle and came out deciding that we just couldn't do our album justice by being a three man band live. We really want to bring you the absolute best in concerts and as a result have added a new fourth member to our line up!

Paul is a heavy hitter on the bass guitar and this addition allows Ron to move over to the lead vocalist-guitarist position. We are going to be sounding very much like the record live which has plenty of over-layered guitars. With Paul on bass, this is no problem. Paul's last band was scouted by Capitol Records and flew down to Nashville during that process. But as that project faded with time, Paul was available and we are really happy to have him on board for the future.
We expect to have the album finished soon and really look forward to bring those songs to you in person!!!
01/20/2006Some stylin new things and some quick comments on recent shows from the world of NoManZero!
It's official, Active
Entertainment has reached terms with a super talent production ace to work
with us (NoManZero) for the making of our ENTIRE album we are recording.
Actual recording sessions are to start next week.
The resume of producer/engineer Jeff Moleski is a who's , who of great music.
Moleski has worked both in live sound (Decker Audio Engineering) and also
owned his own recording studios in Syracuse (Penquin Studios), Chicago (Soundworks
Studios) and Hollywood (Moletrax Studios) .
A partial list of artists whom
Jeff has worked with include:
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nick Lowe
Bon Jovi
Ray Charles
Joan Jett
The Smashing Pumpkins
Ashly Simpson
Masters of Reality
Duran Duran
Kathy Valentine (The Go Go's)
Jersey Films

Courtney Love
PBS
Of particular note is the fact that Jeff oversaw all technical aspects as well
as engineering and mixed parts of the Grammy Winning Record "Melon Collie &
The Infinite Sadness" by The Smashing Pumpkins.
Jeff is an artist extraordinaire when it comes to making records and we in
NoManZero are VERY lucky to have him and the resources he provides to all
projects he agrees to get involved with.

And the beat goes on in NoManZero land. The latest is that Intermixx Magzazine (www.Intermixx.com) featured NoManZero in the latest issue (December 2005). This very cool publication distributes print copys in Houston, Philly, CT, southern New Jersey and western NY. NoManZero was lucky enough to get a HUGE 11" by 17" article published that documented the history of the band and brought readers up to date to the time of the release of the "Bye Bye CCP" video. Also SO happy to report that the real version of "Remember Tiananmen Square" has finally been completed. It utilized the talents Dnash who was on basic tracks as far back as July, 2005 and remains on the tracks. Check it out at the Music Clips links off the main page. We are also currently tracking some of our best material now with our current drummer Mike Lapke. More on that soon.

BIG, BIG news since the last news update and this one even manages to go over and above what has happened before!! (See the previous news updates below for more on that.) Back in July we reported that New Tang Dynasty Television out of New York city (www.NTDTV.com) had filmed NoManZero during live performances of songs, "Bye Bye CCP" and "Remember Tiananmen Square" for use on their broadcast network that spans viewers in North America, Asia, Europe amongst other places! Well, we very, very pleased to report that this same network has produced a video of the song "Bye Bye CCP" that is absolutely AMAZING. You can see it here by clicking on the link below
Bye Bye CCP (Clicking Here will bring you the video. Real Audio Player is required for viewing and if you don't have that on your computer you can get a free copy of the player from the company by clicking here click here to download
This video shows the truth about the fate of some people who have been persecuted in China for whatever wrong reasons those that carry out the terrible acts do so. But the production talent and artistic sensibility of the video are absolutely awesome and the band is really happy with the results. It just elevates the song to even higher levels of impact.
In other news, Skope Magazine (www.SkopeMagazine.com) chose NoManZero as one of the bands that performed at the well known Boston area hot spot Harpers Ferry Club www.harpersferryboston.com as part of that magazine's Fall Music bash. The other bands also rocked the club included The Indefinite Article, Rebecca Nurse, Guillermo Sexo & of course DJ Shyne. It was a great night and the other bands were simply smashing.
The big New York city date mentioned in the last update was postphoned till it gets warm again but should be great when does go down.
Brand new Shiny songs have been written and the recording for NoManZero's upcoming full length CD is underway. The studio where the work is taking place features some of the best equipment on the planet and the engineering skills of Dave Shuman (Living Color, Deep Banana Blackout, etc.) are making things happen in a big, cushy, musical way. And while the band is proud of it's earlier material the new stuff will probably be enjoyed by even more than have done so in the past (downloads of NoManZero MP3s and videos are approaching 1500 hundred downloads!! which ain't too shabby of a little ole three man band from NY/CT).
And oh yeah..............Keep On Rockin!!!.........as
always!
On top of that, a HUGE show has been added in NYC on Saturday, September 17th. This is another "Party to end the Party" event that is slated to have the former members of Creed as the headlining act. The tentative show/Party location is at the hugely musically historic Washington Square park in Greenwich Village. This is where greats such as Dylan and Hendrix amongst hundreds of other greats have hung out and jammed. It is in the center of the NYU campus which is actually a big part of Greenwich Village in the same way Yale is a big part of New Haven. As NoManZero guitarist Tim Britt graduated from NYU,.this makes this event even sweeter.
7/24/05
The short time since the last update has been extremely eventful for NoManZero. NoManZero recorded their new song " Bye Bye CCP". NTDTV has filmed NoManZero performing this song at more than one concert and has put NoManZero music in front of millions of viewers. New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV http://www.ntdtv.com/xtr/eng/xtrdoc/NTDTVEnglish.pdf ) is one of the world's largest television networks. This network broadcasts over 4 continents to a viewing audience up to 200 million Chinese viewers. An obvious testimony that getting behind a good cause such as Asian Freedom for the beautiful people in China, Vietnam and Tibet was the right thing to do. Active Entertainment and NoManZero thanks God for this opportunity. Oh yeah, Rockin in the Free World!!
NoManZero also performed on July 22nd for the massive Asian FreedomLincoln Memorial Event rally that took place in front of the Lincoln memorial. This event was even larger than it appears in the photographs documenting it on our site here. The most famous and well known Asian freedom activists in the world spoke at the event. It was attended by 2500 supporters and was amazingly exciting to say the least. NoManZero was very excited by the fact that Sterling Campbell, well known drummer for David Bowie (and formally with Duran Duran) again was behind the drum kit for NoManZero. The band performed "Remember Tiananmen Square" and "Bye Bye CCP" for a very receptive audience. Be sure to visit our music clips page off the main site to hear these songs.
NoManZero has also been recently covered in Northeast magazines and newspapers. The very cool Skope Magazine based out of Boston included the band in its' features sections of the www.SkopeMagazine.com website. Other bands that were featured at that time in Skope were Weezer, Biohazad and The Fixx. The same magazine also put NoManZero's website link at the top of their links page. Other publications have also started to pick up the NoManZero story. Print publications in CT such as The Waterbury Republican and The Southington Observer recently wrote stories about the band. The Epoch Times out of New York City has run stories about the band. The link http://www.epochtimes.com/gb/5/7/6/n977222.htm is from a former issue off the papers website www.EpochTimes.com. This website is one of the most visited websites in the world with over 1 million unique visitors per day.

On July 3rd, NoManZero was one of the featured finali acts at the 12 hour "Party to End the Party" which took place a Washington DC's hip Dupont Circle park (in the middle of music clubs, fashion clothing shops, galleries and more). The NoManZero band for the day included none other than Sterling Campbell who has been touring and recording with David Bowie for close to 10 years and who was part of Duran Duran and Soul Asylum prior to that. The party was to visibly support the 2.7 brave ones who have resigned from a Chinese communist party in China known for routinely committing human rights abuses to those not falling in with the party line.
The event also featured other fantastic Rock/Hip-Hop/Blues artists and bands. The line included:
LoLoLi - A female black acoustic artist who has touched many across the US in recent years. Without placing tags on her, one has been heard to say that she belongs in the same league as artists such as Ani Difranco, Tracy Chapman and other of that calibre.

Dru Lore - If one wants to hear blues played as is in the deepest DC area flavor, then one must hear Drew Lore. A man who can make your heart move with a slide guitar. Good Stuff.

Head-Roc - These guys are edgy and well known as a no compromise Black Hip Hop Group stating the never ending need for US society to consider the well being of the Black community. They are certainly not afraid to express the views of those seeking to improve conditions for Blacks in this country all while remembering the wrongs committed to Blacks in times past. Hope this gives you an idea of what this impressive show felt and sounded like and apologies to any if this description is not completely accurate. Whether listeners decide they agree with these guys are not, no one can deny how good this act is.

NoManZero - For more on you know who click to the DC-Party Update link here to read about the show with NoManZero's very special guest and even see streamed video. Here is the Link
Monopoli - Now here is an act that is making some serious waves in the music business. This band has been getting impressive reviews from major papers such as the tough critic page of the Washington Post and other hip internet music sites. The band has been compared (is that cool to do that ?) to acts like Coldplay. Certainly a big deal considering Coldplay had the top selling album in the country these past few weeks.

NoManZero performed directly in front of the White House in Washington D.C. at a VERY special event on June 18th, 2005. Unexpectedly, the event grew to even larger proportions due the presence of an object that for many represented the essence of what is now known as 9/11. The event was a Vietnam freedom rally organized by free Vietnamese representatives and “Missing in Action” veterans organizations.
On the very same stage was a truly special 9/11 icon. Many remember from TV news footage, the famous flag that hung from the top of the multi-story crane that was pulling rubble from the Ground Zero site. That flag remained for months above Ground Zero and grew to be an icon of sorts for many who saw that flag both in person and on television. NoManZero was honored to be sharing the stage with such a special flag.
Guitarist, Tim Britt said, “I was only a few blocks away from the Twin Towers when they went down and feel like I know what that flag means. Every day I walked through Union Square Park which was the closest stop the subway would let you off on my way to NYU. The park was filled with burning candles and photos of the missing from 9/11. Family and friends of the missing were walking through Union Square hoping someone would have information as to where their loved ones were. Words can’t describe what those days felt like walking through that park. But I have to think that those in Vietnam and China, whose family members were killed by a communist government (because they expressed ideas counter to that the government said), do have an idea of what it felt like. That is why we are here today with NoManZero, to help put an end to that kind of evil in any way we can”
The rally was organized by a Free Vietnam and MIA/POW veterans organizations to deliver a message to the White House. That message is that people of Vietnam deserve to have the same basic freedoms that we enjoy here in the U.S. Sadly, this is not currently the case as the communist governments does now allow freedom of speech, religion and basic human rights. In communist countries, expression that does not fall in line the governments in those countries is considered illegal and results in prison sentences and more. In China, the use of the words “Freedom”, “Human Rights” or “Democracy” come up as an illegal term in a Google and Yahoo search engine according to the Epoch Times free Chinese newspaper.
That day, the whole band felt as they did at the free China rally weeks before in Washington D.C. Like John Lennon (Give Peace a Chance), George Harrison (Concert for Bangladesh) and Jimi Hendrix (played Martin Luther King Rally in a riot torn New Jersey) before them, they were lucky to be given the chance to try and make a positive difference with their music.

NoManZero successfully performs their new song, "Remember Tiananmen Square" at a history making Chinese freedom rally in Washington DC. The rally and concert took place on the 16th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre. The event took place at Farragut Square located 3 blocks from the White House. The band got immediate and heavy response from the free Chinese press. Multiple interviews were given to television, radio and print media. For more info about this important concert and the cause it supported visit Chinese Freedom Rally.
NoManZero also has been asked to perform at another event to take place in Washington on the weekend of July 4th in the arts oriented area of the city. Details to follow soon. Local CT shows continue to be booked. Details on the Concert Dates links off the main page.

Songwriting process nearing completion in preparation for upcoming recording sessions. These sessions are slated to occur in a mouth watering studio that absolutely slays any home recording set up. We are talking legendary gear on a par with Hendrix's Electric Ladyland Studio in NYC ( which is going to make the recording sessions a very good time!) Possible plans for DVD style documentary footage of the sessions.

NoManZero has completed talks with Dave Schuman, a well known recording engineer with an international reputation. Dave has worked at some of the world's best studios with some of the world's best artists. Dave Schuman's last notable project was tracking the famous metal band, Living Colour (Cult of Personality MTV hit) for there most recent release on Sanctuary Records. He has worked at studios such as Miami's Criterion Studios whose history is a who's-who of the business.
Dave has agreed to work with NoManZero for the recording of the latest material for the late summer CD release. This is great news as previous tracks were produced by Roger Arnold who recorded REM's last album amongst others.
